Contact us if you have any questions.
If you are constructing a new business or require a change in your existing electric service for an expansion, please have your electrical contractor complete HG&E’s Request for Electric Service Form so HG&E can install the proper wiring and meter at your location. This form also applies to temporary service installations.
Timeline: Please take into account that HG&E requires at least a week for simple services and up to a month for more complex projects to plan, design, provide materials, and perform the necessary construction.
Once this form is submitted, your electrical contractor must contact our Electric Distribution Department at (413) 536-9355 in order to outline customer work requirements and conditions necessary to supply electrical service. Once the proper electrical connection has been made to your structure, you can complete the application for service.
If you have any questions about the new electric service installation process, please contact us.
As of January 2019, HG&E is unable to accommodate new natural gas service requests due to the lack of natural gas availability in the region. Customers can make improvements to their existing gas service, so long as the load profile does not increase and the service was active as of December 31, 2018. HG&E may be able to accommodate certain commercial and industrial requests; depending on the specific load profile, and the ability for those new customers to utilize dual fuel during peak periods, on HG&E's interruptible rate.
If you are interested in a new or upgraded service, please fill out the natural gas interest form.
For more information, please review HG&E's Natural Gas Moratorium details.
Stop Service
Stopping your service is as easy as filling out the service termination form or calling customer service (413) 536-9300. We require 24 hours’ notice to terminate service. Please note that only the customer of record can terminate service. We will verify your personal information prior to terminating any account.
Customers are responsible for all power furnished until we have been notified to terminate service and we have been provided access to the meters.
Move Service
If you are moving from one commercial location to a new location within our service territory, you are required to sign up for our automatic payment program or to pay a service deposit. Contact us if you have any questions.
Rental Property Owners must complete the automatic succession form in order for services to be transferred automatically upon termination of a tenant account. Property owners can terminate automatic secession at any time.
Upgrade Service
Due to the lack of natural gas capacity in the region, HG&E will not be able to accommodate new or upgraded natural gas service requests as of January 2019. Customers can make improvements to their existing gas, so long as the load profile for their building does not increase and the service was actively consuming gas in December 2018.
HG&E may be able to accommodate certain commercial/industrial requests depending on the specific load profile and the ability for those customers to utilize dual fuel, on HG&E’s interruptible rate, during peak periods.
If you are interested in a new or upgraded service, please fill out the natural gas interest form.
For more information, please review HG&E's Natural Gas Moratorium details.
